Season's Greetings my dear Friends,

It is Christmas Letter time and I thought I would try something new this year --- a Christmas web page!

The year 2000 has been a very good one for me.  After all the "crisis mode" of the end of last year it was nice to discover that the Y2K problem was not a problem!  I was in the office for New Year's Day but only had status reports to do as there were no problems.

I continue to participate in the faith community at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church. I was one of two people asked to share a reflection on my faith journey at the Easter Vigil this past year.  The two reflections were given in place of the homily.  I received very positive feedback on my reflection.  And, it really was something special for me to be able to share my faith journey with my faith community.

This year has also seen my web pages grow.  I even "bought" some "Internet real estate":  www.douglasmack.com!  In addition, I set up a Web Ring under the new Web Ring system.

This year has also seen me branching out into a new interest.  If you have looked at my web pages, you already know what it is:  tattoos.  I have gotten three tattoos this year, the last one on the 1st of December.  There is a Russian Cross on my left upper arm and a Russian Madonna and Child on my upper right arm.  On the 1st I got an Eastern picture of St. Benedict on my lower right leg.  There are pictures on my other web pages of the tattoos.

Selecting and getting the tattoos has been a very spiritual process for me.  They are permanent reminders of what is most important in my life, my faith.

Another important part of my life is my family.  This past September I went home to Pennsylvania for a short visit with my parents.  It is the first time that I had been home since May of 1996.  We had a very good visit.

And of course, my very dear friends are an important part of my life.  Though I do not have the opportunity to see you as I would like, you are in my thoughts and prayers in a very special way during this Holiday Season.  May God bless you with all of God's love
